Hi! I’m Mary Bowman—a photographer drawn to the in-between moments, the soft light, the quiet glances that say more than words ever could.

Photography has always been a part of my life. My grandparents were the ones who taught me to see the world through a lens—always documenting, always noticing. They brought cameras to every gathering, filling our shelves with albums full of handwritten captions and tiny time capsules. When my grandfather passed, he left me his old film cameras. I still use them today, and it feels like bringing a piece of him with me into every wedding I photograph. Film slows me down in the best way—it invites intention, softness, and trust

That legacy is the foundation of how I work: with presence, gentleness, and deep respect for your story. I don’t believe in overly posed photos or rushing through moments. I believe in creating a space where you can truly be yourself—whether you're outgoing and playful, or quiet and grounded. My job is to hold space, notice the magic, and document it in a way that feels timeless and true.

At home, I’m usually reading a novel, cooking something from scratch, or walking our sweet pup Bilbo with my husband Joe.
